Sceptre
Italy?
This object is difficult to identify but it is most likely to be a sceptre because it does not appear to have ever contained anything. The entire object is covered with geometric, granulated patterning consisting of zig zags, fretwork and banded loops. This decoration suggests it is either Greek or Ptolemic and can be dated to the Etruscan period c. 3rd century BC - 1st century BC
