Spherical glass component of a hanging mosque lamp with painted enamel and gilt. It bears cursive script inscriptions. The Sultan mentioned is most probably al-Nasiral-Hassan, son of Muhammad, son of Qalawan, who reigned in 1347-1351 and 1354-1361. Egypt, mid-14th c.
