Artist anhysbys

Knife, of polished steel, skillfully made in one piece. The handle is chiselled in the round with a statuette of Temperance draped and pouring water from a ewer into a goblet held in the left hand; she stands upon a fluted vase supported by a naked male figure astride and grasping the entwined tail of a sea monster from whose mouth issues finally the blade, single-edged and slightly curved.

French (?), about 1600.
