Side Cabinet

A side cabinet with overall ornament in première and contre partie boulle-work, lacquered-brass mounts and brass-inlaid rosewood and ebony. The green and pink Mona marble top sits above a leaf-tip and berry cast-molded edge. Below the marble top is a frieze of a densely delineated and intertwined pattern of vines and flowers in première partie boulle-work. The two sides of the cabinet have doors with a similar floriated design issuing from a large stylized flower in première partie boulle-work, each enclosing a shelf. Flanking each door are two disengaged ringed columns covered in both première and contre partie boulle-work and attached floral and acanthus mounts. A mirrored back connects the two sides, which sit atop bracket feet.

Purchase: acquired through the generosity of the Lillian M. Diveley Fund, in honor of Shirley Bush Helzberg and her leadership on the Board of Trustees
