William Pitt
Full length marble sculpture of a gentleman wearing calf-length trousers and a tail coat. The pose puts the weight on his left leg with the right one being more relaxed and stepping forward. The statue stands on a cylinder shaped plinth bearing inscription: "GULIELMO PITT/CIVES GLASGUENSES/POSUERUNT/A.D. 1812". It was transferred in 1877 from the Old Town Hall, where it was presented by the citizens of Glasgow in 1812. Signed "John Flaxman R.A./Sculptor".
