Microscope (2011.32)

A brass cuff-type single tube microscope mounted to a support pillar having two focus adjustment thumbscrews. The stage is quatrefoil shaped with typical mounts for a top lighting lens and slide holder. A circular mirror is mounted in a frame to the substage mounting plate. The support pillar is further stabilized by a reverse scrolled bracket at the base. The microscope is mounted to a mahogany plinth base containing a fitted accessories drawer. Accessories include six objectives, an ivory double-screw top box containing springs, a brush, brass tweezers, and four ivory framed slides and additional eyepieces.
