Rembrandt with raised sabre

A bust-length self-portrait of the artist, facing the viewer. The figure is turned slightly toward the left. He wears a cap, a cloack with a fur collar, and holds, in his visible right hand, an upraised sabre. A portion of the upper section of the sabre blade is cut off by the framing line.
