Rocking chair (87.95.13)
Upholstered Shaker-made rocking chair. The seat and chair back are upholstered with a green textile. The crest rail is flat and plain, and forms a slight arch in the center. Stiles taper and terminate with acorn shaped finials. Front legs flare with front edge of seat and are fitted into narrow, sled-shaped (or "knife-blade") rockers. There are seven stretcher, double on front and sides with a singular on the back. All of the stretchers are rounded and taper as they meet the legs or stiles.
