Wallet (1958)

Man's leather wallet has a black exterior with a buff interior. The interior has tooling. There are two pockets, one having an interior flap. Two types of hand blocked paper line each of the double pockets. The main body of the wallet is 9" long and 7" wide when unfolded. At each end there is an additional flap, the longer one measures 10", and winds around the body of the wallet to be secured in a loop.

The wallet bears the inscription, "Peter Martin His Book, Andover, March the 10, 1786." Maker's label inscibed as well. It is most unusual to find a man's wallet that contains the maker's label as well as the name of the owner, date, and area in which he lived. Few wallets are so well document...
