The Andrew and Zoë Law Galleries inside The Lowry are home to the world's largest public collection of paintings and drawings by LS Lowry who was famous for his stick-like figures and industrial scenes in the north-west of England in the mid-20th century.

Salford Museum & Art Gallery had been a long-standing collector of his work and some 400 individual works – as well as an extensive archive of photographs, press cuttings and exhibition catalogues – these were transferred to The Lowry on its opening.
