Set of Eight George II Mahogany Salon Chairs
These Chippendale style mahogany salon open armchairs have a ‘fish scale’ decoration on the legs and hairy-paw feet. The chairs are upholstered with floral needlework embroidered by Jean Drummond, the second wife of James, 2nd Duke of Atholl.
They were purchased in 1756 for £26.10s and supplied by John Gordon.
