Conical cup with radiating divisions painted alternatively with lustre colour and deep blue. Birds with wings ending in semi-palmettes are rendered on a gold ground, a style of painting characteristic of the early period of Kashan pottery. Iran, Kashan, late 12th c. Gift of Marina Lappa-Diomidous.
