Needle case (2008.8.39.A)
Unknown Artist
Ivory needlecase shaped like a fisherwoman in traditional dress associated with the fisherfolk of Dieppe, France. She holds a fish in one hand and the other hand rests in the pocket of her gathered ankle-length skirt. The figure is carved in two pieces; the head lifts off for the insertion of needles.
