Untitled from the "Human Nature" series

Guyana, a country on South America’s North Atlantic coast, has one of the largest unspoiled rainforests in the world. In 2009, Norway offered Guyana $250 million for protecting and maintaining the rainforest. The rainforest is threatened by housing, logging, farming, and mining. China is developing infrastructure and offering to buy trees that are cut and minerals that are mined.
