Resilience

Leah Davis is a 2d mixed media artist who focuses on pop surreal portraiture to investigate existence and the ‘Self’. Encouraging us to take time to reflect and converse with our own personal unconscious.

Davis (1986) was born and raised in Thurso, the most northern town on mainland Scotland.

She received a First-Class Honours degree in Contemporary Art and Contextualised Practice at the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2020 and is presently studying an MA in Fine Art at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen.

Her first solo exhibition which was held in Upstairs Gallery, Inverness (2019) was a major success. She has since exhibited nationally and internationally including, SixFoot Gallery, Glasgow (2021), and KEEP Contemporary, Santa Fe (2020).

Her current research explores the healing benefits of art, which includes the use of archetypal imagery and applying Jungian Art Therapy techniques to a studio practice.

Davis works from her studio in Lossiemouth, Scotland.

Resilience was made for this exhibition and is part of our silent auction, proceeds from the highest bid will go to Thurso SSPCA.
