A Cuca
This painting is an Early Modernist Oil on Canvas Painting created by Tarsila do Amaral in 1924.
In a letter to her daughter Dulce, in February 1924, Tarsila wrote: ‘I am creating some very Brazilian animals that have been much appreciated. Now I have made one called A Cuca. It’s a weird animal, in the bush with a frog, an armadillo and another invented animal.” The canvas was acquired by the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain of France in 1926 and later displayed at the Musée de Grenoble, in 1928.
