Design for a Sarcophagus

Something more than the left half is shown. Below is a base with a crouching lion and a moulding having a festoon in front, serving as supports. The sarcophagus has the general shape of an entablature. The lower part of the body is decorated with a row of leaves and with a female mask. A tablet is in the middle. In the middle of the corner is a colute pediment with a mask inside. A figure sits laterally upon it, whose head is not shown. Colored background.
