Duke Vin, first sound system operator in the UK

Duke Vin, or Vincent George Forbes (1928-2012), was one of the leading UK sound system operators in the early days of dub reggae. He first unoficially set up his system ‘Duke Vin the Tickler’s’ during Notting Hill Carnival, where he performed for 37 years, but he also made appearances at well-known London clubs like The Marquee and The Flamingo in the 1960s.
